Ascot is one of Brisbane’s premium suburbs with a good mix of traditional and modern architecture. We obtained Demolition Approval for the rundown brick and tile bungalow, leaving a sloping site and a client brief for a high quality family home, showcasing state-of-the-art design. This city Small Lot of only 374m2 made every square metre precious and as such, innovative planning was needed to achieve the desired layout and courtyard garden connection. A two storey void to the Summer Room gives an outdoor sense of space that belies the Small Lot parameters of this 374m2 site. We managed all of the required Town Planning Approvals and secured a four bedroom home with a large office space and gym area. This design combines industrial polished concrete floors with open hardwood timber stairs and the warmth of a fireplace.
