Sloping sites likes these have been our DesignBuild specialty for many years, but it is an intricate process to bring together a successful planning solution for a narrow site, with town planning approvals, and practical control of site costs. Good architectural design not only gives you a great aesthetic and climatic result, but can save you large chunks of money by finding the best solution and value for the site costs. Here we weighed up and priced various retaining and suspended floor options to deliver the best overall value, while satisfying our clients' design brief. The result is a beautifully clean-lined space that makes the most of ocean views, natural light and summer breezes. The three levels also needed to provide for zoning between living spaces, entertaining areas, bedrooms and ample storage - tricky within the 10m width but all achieved within budget.
